Realme C25 Review: A Budget Smartphone With Good Features

When you go to buy a new smartphone, there are a lot of options available. But the budget smartphone market is getting more and more competitive. Realme is a budget smartphone manufacturer, and their latest phone.

The Realme C25, is a great option if you want a cheap but decent phone. But is the Realme C25 the best budget smartphone you can buy? Here are my thoughts.

It has a decent screen, a high-end processor, dual rear cameras, and a large battery. It has a great set of features and great hardware for the price.

➤ Here are the features of the Realme C25:

- 5.8" display with 2.5D curved glass and FHD+ resolution

- MediaTek Helio P60 chipset

- AI-enhanced cameras

- 4000mAh battery

- Fast charging

Realme C25 Unboxing

The Realme C25 is available in Rose Gold and Champagne Gold. This phone is made available in only one color variant. The device has a plastic unibody metal design.

The dual-SIM Realme C25 runs ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6739WA octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. The smartphone packs 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

Realme C25 Review:

Design, Build and Ergonomics The Realme C25 has a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 78.1%. The phone has an 18:9 aspect ratio display with a notch on top.

Weighing just 150 grams, it is quite lightweight and slim. The Realme C25 has a glossy diamond cut pattern design on the back. This phone doesn't have a fingerprint sensor on board. Instead, it relies on a face unlock feature.

➤ Hardware

Realme C25 is powered by MediaTek MT6739 chipset which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone has a microSD card slot with support for up to 256GB. The phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

Design Realme C25 is built out of plastic but it looks quite premium. Realme has used a diamond-cut texture on the back to give it a subtle metallic feel. The back cover can be removed to reveal the dual-SIM slot. The smartphone has a loudspeaker at the bottom of the phone.

On the top, you have the 3.5mm audio jack and the primary microphone. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the rear side. Overall, the phone feels pretty sturdy and it doesn't feel fragile even when you drop it from a height.

➤ Design

Realme C25 has an all-plastic design that feels quite solid and good in terms of build quality. It has a single camera module on the rear with a circular fingerprint sensor below it. Realme C25 has a 16-layer coating to protect the screen from cracking.

The antenna lines at the top and bottom of the back are quite noticeable and would divide opinion among users. Realme C25 gets a 3.5mm audio socket at the bottom along with a USB Type-C port. On the left side of the phone, you will find the power button and the volume rocker button.

The right side of the phone has the dual SIM card slot and a microphone. The Realme C25 is available in Charcoal Black and Ocean Blue colour options. Realme C25 has a rear-mounted speaker grill and the 3.5mm audio socket at the bottom.

➤ Display

Realme C25 features a big 6.5-inch display with a HD+ resolution. The resolution is the only downside of the Realme C25, as the phone uses an HD+ display for a lower price. The Honor 7C has a notch display, along with a HD+ resolution and a FullView display.

However, the phone comes at a slightly higher price tag, which makes it more superior. Realme C25 has a screen-to-body ratio of 85.2%. A complete screen, with thin bezels is what you need for a big screen smartphone.

The display quality is excellent, and has good colour reproduction. Watching videos is a great experience. For most users, these are not critical specifications, so if the screen quality is not your priority, you will be happy with the display of Realme C25.

➤ Performance

This is one of the few budget phones that can run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. We are yet to put the phone's performance to test, but given its price tag, we have high hopes. There is a quad-core processor under the hood coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

➤ Realme C25 Performance review:

Performance Realme C25 is powered by MediaTek's Helio P70 SoC. It has 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage on board. On Geekbench, the phone achieved a single-core score of 807, and a multi-core score of 3228.

This phone has been priced at Rs. 8,990, but I believe the final price will be a bit lower as compared to the current market price. In my case, it has only received Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.

➤ Battery Life

The Realme C25 is backed by a 2,340mAh battery. It offers a standby time of 260 hours. And, a battery saver mode that can be enabled on the phone helps reduce the battery consumption significantly. The smartphone lasts for about 9 hours and 20 minutes on a single charge.

The Realme C25 sports a dual camera setup on the back. The camera comprises a 13MP primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor. The Realme C25 also comes with an AI scene recognition feature that is AI based.

The company claims that this feature gives better photo clarity and reduces distortion. It is similar to the low-light auto-brightness. For selfies, the phone comes with an 8MP selfie camera that comes with an AI mode.

➤ Camera

Realme C25 has dual cameras on the back. The primary camera of this device is a 13-megapixel sensor, whereas, there's an 8-megapixel secondary camera.

Both cameras have f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, it has a 13-megapixel camera. There's a 3260mAh battery in this phone, which is more than sufficient to last a whole day. It also supports 18W quick charging.

➤ Realme C25 camera Review:

The Realme C25 features a 13-megapixel camera at the back with LED flash and an 8-megapixel camera at the front for selfies. The rear camera can shoot good quality photos in bright light, but loses focus quickly in low-light environments.

The quality of the front camera is quite decent for its price. We have seen smartphones from other budget brands offering better front camera performance.

➤ Software

We liked the standard Android interface of the Realme C25. It comes with a responsive UI. Also, the UI is quick and smooth. It is very similar to the recent version of Android that is 8.1 Oreo.

The Realme C25 packs a MediaTek MT6739W processor that can easily keep the phone running for long hours. It is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. With limited internal memory, users can't store too many apps and games on the device.

The phone runs almost all apps smoothly without any lags. While reviewing the performance of the Realme C25, we have noticed some lags and app crashes. So, if you are not the one who likes to carry around a device with very limited internal memory, then the Realme C25 can give you some problems.

➤ Price

Realme C25 is listed online starting at Rs. 6,999. It is sold exclusively on Flipkart. The smartphone is currently out of stock on Flipkart. You can wait for another few days and order the Realme C25.

➤ Realme C25 specifications

The Realme C25 is powered by an octa-core SoC, but the processor's name is not mentioned on the company's website. We do not know which chipset it is running at the moment. There is 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.

The smartphone has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. There are AI features for selfies, face unlock, and portrait mode. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back.

A 3500mAh battery powers the Realme C25. There is Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi support as well. Features The Realme C25 is a selfie-focused smartphone.

Conclusion

Realme has a lot of budget friendly options and most of them come with exciting features. The Realme C1 makes a case for itself because of the dual camera setup, the selfie notch, and the affordable price tag.

The fingerprint sensor is on the back, which makes the phone look quite futuristic. The dual camera setup is placed in the top left corner. There are power and volume buttons on the right edge.

On the bottom edge, there is a speaker grill and the microUSB port for charging and data transfers. The Realme C1 is 7.7 mm thick. The phone weighs 182 grams.
